Introducing Google Workspace for Education

On the 17th. February 2021, Google introduced the next time with G Suite for Education which will now be: Google Workspace for Education. Google Workspace for Education includes all the products you already use, such as Classroom, Meet, Gmail, Calendar, Drive, Documents, Spreadsheets, Presentations and many more. More than 170 million students and teachers worldwide use Google’s various tools. Everything you need to teach, learn, connect and share, all in one place, available wherever you are and on any device with the highest security. To meet the different needs of schools and other study situations around the world, there are now four versions of Google Workspace for Education, instead of two.

Google’s free edition G Suite for Education will be renamed the Google Workspace for Education Fundamentals. If you use the free edition today, you will not see any changes other than a new name and new features. Google will continue to develop new solutions for the free version by listening carefully to teachers to identify their needs.

Existing users of G Suite for Enterprise for Education, what happens now?

From 14. April 2021, it is no longer possible to order G Suite Enterprise for Education. Private schools and municipalities that use G Suite Enterprise for Education will see the new release, Plus, in the administration console and will automatically have all the features of Education Plus.

Google is constantly developing the features of all editions of the license. In the last year alone, Google has added dozens of free features like Raise Your Hand in Google Meet, Headline / Classification in Classroom, and Grammar Suggestions in Google Docs. Google also continues to invest heavily in premium offerings by launching more than 25 new features in 2021, to make more advanced security controls and collaboration tools even better.
